- NEW CASTLE NOVEL IN THE WORKS

John has begun and is steadily, if slowly, working on a NINTH Castle Perilous novel. The tentative title is THE PIRATES OF PERILOUS, in which you will meet the scurvyest pack of cutthroats from here to Far Tortuga.
- MONDO CULT, new issue due out soon!!

John will have no less than three articles on Sf/fantasy films in the latest issue of MONDO CULT magazine, due out at the end of 2011. These articles are highly informative and entertaining for anyone with an interest in the cinema of the fantastic.
- JOHN
DECHANCIE WINS FORRY AWARD
-
John
DeChancie was the 2005 recipient of the Forry Award, given by
the Los Angeles Science Fantasy Society for “Lifetime
Achievement in the Field of Science Fiction and Fantasy,”
as the plaque reads. The award was presented at Loscon
32 on November 26, 2005, at the LAX Marriott.
In his acceptance speech, DeChancie thanked everyone involved
and the entire membership of the LASFS.

THE FUTURE: A Science Fiction Conversation

Anomalous
Entertainment is pleased to announce a festival screening of
their feature-length documentary, Finding The Future: A
Science Fiction Conversation, which is an official selection
of the 2004 New York Independent Film and Video Festival.
Shot
against the backdrop of several major science fiction conventions,
including the Chicago and San Jose Worldcons, Finding the
Future examines how science fiction has impacted our society
and how society’s resultant evolution has pushed the boundaries
of science fiction ever farther “out there.” Through
the thoughtful commentary of prominent authors and enthusiastic
fans, we explore the culture of science fiction and the passion
of its devotees for the genre.
Finding
the Future features conversations with Ben Bova, Joan Slonczewski,
Bob Eggleton, Robert Silverberg, Fred Saberhagen, David Brin,
Lois McMaster Bujold, Roger Christian, Forrest Ackerman, Cory
Doctorow, Catherine Asaro, Jody Lynn Nye, Jack L. Chalker, Mike
Resnick, John DeChancie, James
Glass, and many others. Also featuring art by Martina
Pilcerova, Robert Ross, Alan Gutierrez, Larry Vela, and Frank
Lurz. And, filk songs by Leslie Fish.
